The Zamfara State governor, Dauda Lawal, has sworn in local government administrators for local government councils in the state. The Oath of Office was administered on the 14 sole administrators of the local councils by the Chief Judge of the State, Justice Kulu Aliyu.

Governor Lawal charged the sole administrators to work hard in collaboration with security agencies to ensure peace in their domains

The governor warned them to desist from engaging in any corrupt acts, but be forthright, honest, and fair to all in their local council areas, and bring about the desired development. He disclosed that the recruited 5000 youths from the 249 districts as Zamfara Community Protection Guards, will be trained and provided with arms and modern crime-fighting equipment to fight the bandits and protect their communities.

The Commissioner for Local Governments and Chieftaincy Affairs, Garba Yandi, promised that he would work closely with the sole administrators to ensure the actualization of the Rescue Mission of the Dauda Lawal-led administration.

The 14 sole administrators are expected to be in office for six months and are expected to hit the ground running, by developing people-oriented policies, that will alleviate the plight of the communities that have been worst hit by activities of bandits and reduce poverty among the people in Zamfara State.
