Police Arrests Woman for Throwing 8-Month-Old Baby into Ocean in Kenya

A woman has been arrested for allegedly throwing her 8-month-old baby into the Indian ocean at Mombasa, Kenya.

In a video that has since gone viral, the coast guards in collaboration with bystanders and local divers were seen trying to rescue the infant.

A Facebook user identified as Kenny Kaburu, posted the video on Monday, December 4 with the caption, β€œDramatic events unfold at Likoni ferry as a deaf woman shocks onlookers by throwing an eight-month-old into the ocean. Swift response from ferry divers averts tragedy, saving the child. Police now have the woman in custody.”

The mother of the child, name (unknown) has been taken by law enforcement officers for further interrogation.

Mombasa is a coastal city in southeastern Kenya along the Indian Ocean.
