Akeredolu for Burial Feb 23

The body of former Ondo State governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, will be interred on February 23 at the burial site in Owo, headquarters of Owo Local Government.

This was contained in a statement signed and made available by his eldest son, Oluwarotimi O. Akeredolu (Jnr.)

The statement said the funeral would begin on February 15 with a Winning Soul Crusade at MKO Abiola Democracy Park, while Jumat Service would hold the next day at Akure Central Mosque.

The funeral programme, according to the statement, would move to Ibadan on February 17 for Loyola Day of Tributes at Loyola College Hall and OAU Night of Tributes.

Other activities holding in Ibadan, the statement revealed, would include NBA Tribute Session, Service of Songs/Night of Tribute, and commendation service, to be rounded off with a private viewing at Akeredolu’s home.

The event, it’s stated, would move to Owo on February 21 for the Ajabue (traditional rites) and a special court session at the Ondo State High Court, Akure, to be followed by lying- in-state and commendation service at the Akure Township Stadium.

The statement said an evening of tributes would hold at St Andrews Church, Owo as well as service of songs.

A candlelight procession and World Gyration by the Kegites Club would be held, while funeral service would hold at St Andrews Church, Owo, it was further disclosed.

The statement concluded that interment would hold after the funeral service at the burial site in Owo.
