In an effort to eradicate criminal activities, particularly kidnapping, from Èkìtì State, a collaborative operation involving the Police, NSCDC, AMOTEKUN, Oodua Peoples Congreess and local hunters has been launched.

The operation targets areas such as Oke-Osun, Ikere/Igbo-Okah, and the dense forests near the Iju/Ikere boundary.

During the operation, five suspected kidnappers – Usman Jelili, Mohammed Bande, Abubakar Aliu, Isah Abdullahi, and Suleiman Abdullahi – were apprehended.

Despite claiming to be herdsmen, none of the suspects were found with cattle, and no cattle were discovered in the forest where they were captured.

However, authorities recovered two motorcycles, a cutlass, a jackknife/dagger, and four phones from the suspects.
