Remo Stars head coach, Daniel Ogunmodede, has told his boys to remain focused, following their dramatic 2-1 win over Rivers United on Monday in a rescheduled Nigeria Premier Football League tie played in Ikenne.

The rescheduled game played at the Remo Stadium in Ikenne witnessed an end-to-end game from both sides, but it was former Sky Blue Stars attacker, Andy Okpe, who netted the opening goal for the away side from the penalty spot in the 19th minute.

But two second-half goals from Haruna Hadi and Franck Mawuena earned the home side the maximum points from the game to take Remo Stars to the second spot on the table with 57 points and just one point behind leader, Enugu Rangers.

While appreciating the battle his wards overcame before sealing three points, Ogunmodede noted that they must keep a low profile and focus on the remaining games of the season.

β€œIt was a difficult game but my players showed what they were capable of doing with the way they staged a comeback and got the massive win,” Ogunmodede said after the game.

β€œWe are not yet at the level and the position we set for ourselves at the beginning of the season. We must remain focused and not allow anything to distract us. It was a good game and a good win for us but emphasis must be on the next game”, he said.
