NEMA Receives 150 Repatriated Nigerians from Chad

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has received 150 repatriated Nigerians from Chad Republic.

The distressed Nigerians who were assisted back in a voluntary repatriation exercise programme by the United Nation’s International Organisation for Migration (UN’IOM) consisted of 23 males, 48 females, 71 children and 8 infants.

This was disclosed in a post on X by NEMA on Wednesday, May 15.

The post reads: β€œOne hundred and fifty distressed Nigerians have been repatriated back to Nigeria from Chad.

β€œThe Nigerians were assisted back in a voluntary repatriation exercise programme by the United Nation’s International Organisation for Migration (UN’IOM) on Tuesday 14th May,2024.

β€œThe flight Air Cargo with registration number SU- BUR landed at the Cargo Wing of Muritala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja at about 2030 hours.

β€œThe profiles of the Returnees indicates that 23 Males,48 Females, 71 Children and 8 Infants arrived Nigeria aboard the flight.

β€œSome of the Returnees demonstrated their joy for the success of their return back to Nigeria.

β€œAgencies on ground to receive the Nigerians were NEMA, Immigration Services, Nigeria Port Health Services FAAN and Nigeria Refugee Commission.”
