The Lagos State Police Command has apprehended Fatimo Agboke, a 19-year-old woman, for her alleged involvement in the fatal stabbing of a 20-year-old man, Azeez.

According to the command’s spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin, the incident occurred on Monday, September 9, at approximately 9:20 p.m. in the Ijegun area.

Upon receiving a complaint from the victim’s father, detectives from the Isheri-Osun Division visited the scene, where they found Azeez’s lifeless body with a deep neck wound, lying in a pool of blood. Following the investigation, Agboke was arrested in connection with the crime.

Hundeyin confirmed the arrest to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday.

β€œThe suspect and the victim, Faruk Azeez, had an argument which resulted in fighting.

β€œIn the cause of the fight, Azeez was stabbed with a broken bottle on his neck by the suspect, which caused him grievous bodily harm.

β€œIn an attempt to rush his son to the hospital for urgent medical attention, he gave up the ghost,” the spokesperson said.

Mr Hundeyin said that detectives from the division visited the scene where the lifeless body of Azeez was seen on the ground, in a pool of blood, with a deep cut on his neck.

The command spokesperson said that the corpse had been deposited at Mainland General Hospital, Yaba, for autopsy.
