The Ojibara of Bayagan, Alhaji Kamilu Salami, has been abducted by armed bandits, triggering tension across Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State.

The traditional ruler was reportedly kidnapped around 9:30 a.m. on Saturday while working on his farm. Armed men said to be carrying AK-47 rifles allegedly stormed the area and whisked him away.

Alarm was first raised by nearby farmers who found the monarch’s motorcycle abandoned on the farmland after failing to locate him. The discovery immediately sparked panic in the community.

A resident, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said a farmer from a neighbouring village witnessed the incident. The eyewitness, hiding in a guinea corn farm at the time, reportedly saw the attackers force the monarch onto a motorcycle at gunpoint before speeding off.

As of the time of filing this report, the abductors have not contacted the family or the community, and no ransom demand has been made.
