Andrea Thompson has officially been recognized as the strongest woman in the world after competition organizers reversed the initial results of the event.

Thompson originally placed second, finishing only one point behind Jammie Booker in the womenโ€™s open category. At the time, Booker was announced as the overall winner. However, following a post-event eligibility review, officials determined that Booker identifies as transgender, a detail they said did not align with the eligibility guidelines set for this specific category.

As a result, organizers rescinded Bookerโ€™s title and updated the final standings to reflect Thompson as the top-ranked competitor. Thompson, a highly decorated strength athlete with multiple world records, has now been formally recognized as the eventโ€™s champion.

The decision has sparked renewed discussion within the strength sports community about eligibility rules, category definitions, and how competitions ensure clarity and fairness for all athletes. Organizers stated that the review was conducted according to their existing policies and emphasized the need for continued dialogue as the sport evolves.

Thompson has not yet issued an extended public statement, but the updated results have been widely circulated by the event organizers and affiliated sporting bodies.
