Anglican School Impacted Me Positively, Says Egbetokun

The Inspector-General of Police, Olukayode Egbetokun, has said the Anglican Comprehensive High School, Ipaja(his alma mater), played an important role in shaping who he is today.

Speaking at the 50th Anniversary Celebration and Gala Night of the school, Egbetokun, who was the chairman, Planning Committee for the anniversary appreciated the school management for its impact on his life.

He said: β€œIt is indeed an honour and privilege to stand before you today as we celebrate the golden jubilee of my beloved alma mater, the Anglican Comprehensive High School, Ipaja, formerly known as Awori Anglican Comprehensive High School. This institution has not only been the foundation of my education, but has also played a pivotal role in shaping the person I am today. As the Inspector-General of Police, and of this August occasion, I am deeply grateful for the values, knowledge, and experiences that this school imparted to me and my other schoolmates, which have guided our journey in our various endeavours and careers in life, most especially for those of us in law enforcement and service.”

Members of the X-Anglican Comprehensive High School, Ipaja, also unveiled a multi-million naira gatehouse for the school amongst other projects in celebration of the jubilee anniversary.

National President, X-ANCOHS, Mr Alexander Lapite, said: β€œThe high point of this celebration is the commissioning of a multi-million naira gatehouse project professionally undertaken by the relevant professionals amongst the old students as a befitting edifice worthy of the age and place of our alma mater.”

Executive Secretary, Lagos Anglican Schools Management Board, Victor Olusa, said that ANCHORS, formerly known as Awori Anglican Comprehensive High School was founded in 1973.

Principal, ANCHORS, Ven. Joseph Adediji, urged all present to embrace the spirit of gratitude to God, saying “our achievements are not just our own, we owe our success first to God our source, then to the trust and unwavering community around us.”
