A former councillor in Adamawa State has been killed and his two sons abducted following an attack by terrorists on Kirchinga community in Madagali Local Government Area. The incident occurred late Monday night, sparking renewed fear in a village that has faced repeated security threats.

The victim, Hon. Thlama Sini, a former councillor representing Kirchinga Ward, was reportedly taken from his residence alongside his children. Local sources said the attackers later killed him before escaping with the boys into the surrounding forest.

Kirchinga, the hometown of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has experienced sporadic terrorist activities over the years, but residents described this latest incident as particularly alarming due to its direct impact on a prominent community figure.

Family sources reported that the attackers demanded Sini leave with them during the invasion. According to the sources, he appealed to them due to health concerns, but the assailants declined to negotiate.

Security agencies have not yet issued an official statement, and efforts to locate the abducted children are ongoing. Authorities and local vigilante groups are said to be coordinating a search operation.

Residents expressed growing concern over the region’s vulnerability, calling for stronger security interventions to prevent further attacks.
