BREAKING: Terrorists Attack Kebbi Girls School, Abduct Students, Kill Staff; Bandits Strike Kwara Security Post Killing Two Officers

In the early hours of Monday, terrorists launched a brutal attack on Maga Comprehensive Girls’ Secondary School in Kebbi State, abducting an unspecified number of female students and killing at least one staff member. A school guard was also injured during the assault, which took place around 5:52 a.m. while students were preparing for their morning routines.

According to eyewitnesses, the attackers stormed the school compound, firing sporadically, and leaving a trail of fear and chaos. Residents reported that the terrorists had not gone far after the abduction, urging both the Federal and State governments to take immediate action to rescue the girls before it’s too late.

The Kebbi incident comes on the heels of another deadly attack in Rogun Village, Kpada District, Patigi Local Government Area, Kwara State, where terrorists, locally described as bandits, stormed a police outpost late Sunday night. The gunmen engaged security personnel in a fierce gun duel that lasted several minutes, resulting in the deaths of two security operatives—a police constable and a vigilante officer.

These coordinated attacks reveal an alarming pattern of violence targeting schools, students, staff, and law enforcement personnel, highlighting the increasing boldness and organization of armed groups across Nigeria.

Local residents expressed frustration over the lack of preventive action, emphasizing that the attacks in Kebbi and Kwara are not isolated incidents but part of a wider security crisis. They warned that unless authorities act decisively, more lives will be lost and more students abducted.

The simultaneous targeting of educational institutions and security posts underscores the challenges Nigeria faces in combating terrorism and banditry, raising urgent questions about the effectiveness of current security measures and the government’s ability to protect its citizens.
