Opeyemi Falegan, a member of the British Royal Air Force, has offered to train members of the South-West Security Network (codenamed Amotekun) at no cost.

The security expert also warned against politisation on the issue of kidnapping and banditry, stressing that it should be treated as a matter that needed urgent government attention.

Condemning the security breach in the state which led to the killing of two traditional rulers and abduction of some school children, the security expert said the solution to frequent attacks by bandits and kidnappers required strengthening the local intelligence.

He called on the security agencies to intensify efforts in bringing the perpetrators of the dastardly acts to book.

Falegan admonished government to involve other security experts with a view to ending the menace, urging government to provide more reliable equipments rather

“Let me train the Amotekun . I still believe in the local intelligence.

“Recognition of the local/domestic intelligence which are the local vigilantes and working with them can give tips and other information about suspicious behaviour to uncover who might be involved and for what purposes.

“Insurgency would hamper industrialization and sustainable development in the state,

“Using of modern day technology could play a huge role in reducing insecurity in the state, Equipments like drone ground control station, and compact biometric search-scan systems.”

He condemned in strong term, the killing of monarchs and abduction of the innocent pupils and some of their teachers.

“I condemn in strongest terms, the gruesome killing of two traditional rulers at Oke-Ako in Ajoni Local Council Development Area and abduction of school pupils in Emure-Ekiti”

“This incident is sad and quite unfortunate. It is a challenge to the federal and state governments for then to redouble their efforts in order to put a stop to these barbaric acts.” Falegan said.
