He said: β€œThere is an increasing load of ICUs requiring patients in Lagos and environs, the demand for ICU beds keeps increasing.

“There’s hardly a day in LASUTH, without a case or two referred for ICU care. β€œWe have increased our ICU capacity with the procurement of five brand new ventilators and four brand new cardiac monitors. In addition, four theatre spaces equipped with four brand new anesthetic machines, to service the increased number of theatre suites,” he said.

Also speaking at the event, the Director, Clinical Services and Training, Adebowale Adekoya, commended the effort of the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, in the development of healthcare facilities in the state.
