A 55-year-old woman, Ifeoma, tragically passed away on Sunday during a church service in Lagos State’s Ejigbo area.

Ifeoma slumped and died after sharing a testimony in her church.

According to Superintendent Benjamin Hundeyin, Lagos State Police Spokesperson, the incident occurred at 8:48 a.m.

The church’s zonal accountant reported the incident, and Hundeyin confirmed the death to the News Agency of Nigeria on Wednesday.

The police are aware of the situation, and the community is in shock over Ifeoma’s sudden passing.

According to the police report, β€œThe accountant reported that during testimony hour in the church, while the service was on, Ifeoma came out singing songs to give her testimony when she suddenly slumped.

β€œShe was quickly taken to a nearby hospital but was referred to a hospital in Isolo where she was confirmed dead,” Mr Hundeyin said.

According to the police spokesperson, detectives were dispatched to the hospital with the complainant to investigate the incident. However, upon arrival, they were informed that the husband and family of the deceased had already transported the body to Anambra for burial.

Notably, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) did not specify the name of the church where the incident occurred in their report.
