Varsity Lecturer Found Dead in Her Home

A female lecturer in the Department of Biochemistry, School of Life Sciences, was found dead in her residence.

Dr. (Mrs) Adefolalu Funmilola Sherifat, a lecturer at Federal University of Technology, Minna, Niger State, has been reportedly found dead in her residence at Gbaiko Area of the town.

The lecturer, who was of the Department of Biochemistry, School of Life Sciences, was found dead in her residence in a pool of blood.

It was learnt that the deceased lecturer’s body was discovered when her church members traced her home after she was not seen during service.

The Chairman of the school’s Academic Staff Union of University (ASUU), Prof. Gbolahan Bolarin, who confirmed the incident told Channels Television that some residents who forced her door open met her lifeless body on the floor.

He added that Sherifat’s body was later moved to the mortuary by the police.

Also confirming the incident was Niger State Police Command, spokesman, Wasiu Abiodun, who said that further information about the incident would be communicated in due course.

Meanwhile, some residents stated that the late lecturer’s husband, who was a professor in the same school earlier passed on.

The late Sherifat reportedly sacked a female house help who was staying with her on Friday.
